Hi, my name is Shelly. I am a breeder of miniature long haired Dachshunds up here in Queensland. I have been breeding dogs for over 10 years now and have a massive emphasis on training in my program because to create beautifully calm, confident and well-rounded dogs I understand it starts with me.

Over the years I have seen breeders produce really high-quality puppies and take the time with them to develop them to be the best version of themselves before they go to their forever homes, however I have seen a massive shift in what is now included when you purchase a puppy. Whether that is just the inexperienced breeders or those who are looking to make a quick 'buck'. There are still some great breeders out there who will invest the time into their dogs and puppies however (and sadly) you will see the bare minimum done.

Especially with Dachshunds being prone to issues around anxiety, it is so important that they are brought up to be confident and be exposed to a lot of different sounds, materials and environments from an early age to help with their confidence.

I include our sound machine, heartbeat toy and slow feeder with every puppy I home, I use the sound machine when they are young and when they go into their forever homes it's amazing how quickly they end up settling in their new environment. The heartbeat toy helps replicate their Mum and/or siblings heartbeat so they don't feel alone and the slow feeder helps with teaching them how to eat calmly now that they don't have their siblings around to guzzle all the food. Our products are such an integral part of helping a dog feel comfortable and calm, so I wanted to share them with homes who may may be struggling with transitioning them into their homes.
